STAFF NC staff have the experience and depth in the community development and financial services sectors with both private sector and nonprofit backgrounds to better support its growth and better understand the borrowers needs.
Jim Ferris, Executive Director He has 30 years of senior management experience in both private and nonprofit organizations with business line expertise in real estate development, property management and financial management. He has extensive experience in affordable housing finance, strategic planning, and asset management. As the leader of the NC team, he has overall responsibility for implementing NC's Business Plan and raising debt and equity. Heparticipates in various industry advisory committees focused on affordable housing finance and lending including NeighborWorks' "STRENGTH MATTERS" and "National Real Estate Advisory Committee", and MacArthur Foundation's "Window of Opportunity".
Mark Knight, Director of Lending With over 24 years of non-profit management experience he is responsible for lending, portfolio management and new product development. He joins NC having led the growth and creation of two affordable housing loan funds serving the Washington, DC metro area.
Craig Hartman, Director of Finance and Administration With over 25 years of financial and risk management experience he is responsible for financial reporting, accounting, investment, personnel, and technology. He has a masters degree in Finance and a Bachelor degree in accounting. He joins NC after ten years as Chief Financial Officer of a regional securities/investment banking firm.
Ingrid Avots, Senior Loan Officer With over 25 years of lending experience with both national and local CDFIs to borrowers in the areas of affordable housing, community facilities, small business and micro enterprise she is senior underwriter of all loan applications and recommendations to the Loan Commiittee and supervising the loan closing porcess. She also has extensive experience in organizational underwriting and portfolio management. Danika Winston, Office Administrator Her duties include supporting the finance team in accounts receivable and payables, board and committee support, file management, office management, marketing and events. She has experience in accounting, customer service and contract management.
